2009 Season and individual tickets are on sale starting December 1 at the Memorial Opera House in Downtown Valparaiso. 

 

2009 Season of shows to include:

February 2009 – "Ragtime" the Musical is based on E.L. Doctorow's Ragtime. Ragtime the Musical follows the troubled lives of one particular family and those they encounter through the years 1906 - 1915. The story is an interesting snapshot of the history of this time, including real characters and events such as Houdini, J. P. Morgan, the murder of Stanford White, the invention of the Model T, and the sinking of the Lusitania.

April 2009 – "Swing" is a mix of dance numbers; some comic, some romantic and some is a mix of dance numbers; some comic, some romantic and some sexy.  Swing! crosses ethnic and cultural barriers with a mix of jive, Latin swing, West Coast swing, hip-hop swing and country and western swing. It features over 30 songs from the Big Band.

June 2009 – "Grease" Here is Rydell High's senior class of 1959; duck-tailed, hot-rodding "Burger Palace Boys" and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking "Pink Ladies" in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical.

 

August 2009 – "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" Is about Four girlfriends who gather to celebrate the upcoming wedding of one of their own. As the bachelorette party picks up steam and the drinks flow, the girls discover more about each other's love lives than they had ever imagined. Songs include many favorite 60's melodies!

October 2009 – "Godspell" Godspell is a fun, modern day retelling of the New Testament parables from The Gospel According to Matthew.

December 2009 – "Scrooge the Musical" based on the popular Charles Dickens classic, 'A Christmas Carol' … Scrooge! The Musical is a classic tale brought musically to life. Join in the festive fun of a traditional Christmas with a twist! This colorful and comic treat is for all the entire family.

Season Tickets are $85 Adults / $70 Seniors & Students and Individual tickets are $17 Adults / $14 Seniors & Students   

The Memorial Opera House was named the 2008 "Cultural Attraction of the Year" by the Porter & LaPorte County Visitor Center's as well as "Best Performing Arts Center" by the Northwest Indiana Business Quarterly Magazine.
